Engaging Science-Focused Instructional Leaders with Online Resources in the CAPMSE K-8 Repository

  • What’s new? Enhanced science resources and a distance learning framework to create new lessons and units on CAPMSE’s K-8 Digital Repository.

  • How and why is this useful? A team created a 3-phase process to engage teacher leaders with existing and new online science resources in CAPMSE’s K-8 Digital Repository. The process included analyzing, piloting, and suggesting enhancements to existing units, and generating practitioner feedback and student samples. The team also created a lesson/unit “unpacking” tool to help educators implement and assess the repository’s learning experiences.

  • What was a unique aspect of this project development? The team’s unpacking tool was developed with a 4-domain framework to help teachers’ to enhance and create quality lessons and remote learning experiences. These domains underscore key indicators of social emotional support, technology, the implementation of content standards, and distance learning pedagogy.
