Math Success for All

  • What’s new? A math toolkit for facilitators and leaders of professional development for site teams of K-12 teachers.

  • How and why is this useful? The team is iterating on and adding to an earlier version of the toolkit to expand and improve upon the content and delivery of the original modules (website improvements completed by early Fall 2021). Hybrid, virtual and asynchronous delivery options are being considered, and the content of the facilitator guides and slide decks is being reviewed for strengths and weaknesses, to include information on the draft California Mathematics Framework, culturally-responsive teaching and social justice, so that the toolkit can be more responsive for educators of marginalized students. A series focused on middle school math is also being added.

  • What was a unique aspect of this project development? In this toolkit revision, the team was able to think more carefully about design

and useability to support broader usage. Specifically, the group revised the format to work on three separate platforms (including the original website and on CANVAS Commons), and developed a style guide and set of instructional design guidelines for high quality online professional learning.
