Curriculum and Instruction Steering Committee (CISC) Science Distance Learning Resources

  • What’s new? A website with science resources to support distance learning in schools and districts.

  • How and why is this useful? The resources include existing materials that were digitized, as well as new resources for groups not traditionally served by the CISC sub-committee (including parents) or to address specific regional and population needs (such as those in alternative education and rural settings). Three categories of resources include those for families and classrooms, for educators planning instruction, and for teacher professional learning and facilitation. A video overview and resource links are provided for each category.

  • What was a unique aspect of this project development? Because of the virtual nature of this work and the immediacy of the need, science experts from across the state who had not previously collaborated worked in resource development teams. They distributed resources to the CISC Science leads, who in turn distributed them to administrators; however the reach of the resources to teachers has been less certain.
